Quick answers

Can you bring a porta potty today?

Yes, inside Lubbock and the nearby towns. Call (806) 301-4747 by 12 PM Monday–Saturday and dispatch checks which truck is closest. A same-day rush fee starts at $85, and we quote it before you book. Same-day orders are taken by phone only.

How many people per porta potty?

Plan 1 standard unit per 50 guests for an event up to 4 hours. PSAI rates a unit at about 200 uses between services. Longer events, alcohol and mostly female crowds need more units or a mid-event service.

Will the wind blow it over?

Not when it's set right. Lubbock averages about 12.4 mph wind, and spring gusts and dust storms can top 60 mph, so we stake or strap units on open lots and face doors away from the south wind. Never untie a staked unit to move it.

How often do you clean it?

Long-term units get serviced once a week. Each visit we pump the tank, disinfect, scrub, deodorize and restock. Event units arrive clean. Busy sites, summer heat and multi-day events can add extra services.

02SIZE IT

How many porta potties do I need in Lubbock?

Plan 1 standard porta potty per 50 guests for an event up to 4 hours, so 100 guests need 2 units. Add 1 unit for every 4 when the event runs longer, and about 15% more when drinks are served. Building crews need 1 per 10 workers with weekly service. The planner below does the math.

What's the rental for?

Recommended setup
2units

Events: 1 unit per 50 guests for up to 4 hrs, +1 per 4 for longer events, PSAI chart for 500+, +15% with drinks, at least 5% accessible. Crews: OSHA 1926.51, 1910.141 or 1928.110 minimums vs. PSAI's 1 unit per 10 workers. Full method.

Which porta potty should I rent?

Rent a standard porta potty for builds, car shows and field days. Pick a deluxe flushing unit with a sink for birthdays and graduations, and a wheelchair-accessible or ADA unit for public events. A restroom trailer suits weddings over 100 guests when there's power and a hose. Add handwash stations wherever food is served.

    04IN THEIR WORDS

What do people ask before they rent a porta potty?

People ask about the same five things before they book: whether a city rule requires one, what happens if the weather turns, whether guests can see inside at night, what "standard" means, and whether anyone will call them back. These are their exact words from 35 recorded rental calls our team reviewed in 2026.

“The codes enforcement requires that I have a porta potty there for the workers.”

    — General contractor, new house build

“What happens if we get to like Thursday, and the forecast looks like it's thunderstorms all weekend?”

    — Business owner booking 2 units for a car show

“But you can't see inside of them at night, right?”

    — Host comparing deluxe flushing units

“I don't want to pay that much for one day.”

    — Host quoted a 2-stall trailer with generator

“Everybody's telling me they're going to get back to me, but they never do.”

    — Caller after half an hour on hold elsewhere

“I don't know what standard means.”

    — Business owner ordering for an event

Each question has a straight answer on this site: jobsite code rules · weather cancellations · night lighting · what standard means · the full call breakdown.

    05SAME-DAY

How does same-day porta potty delivery work in Lubbock?

Same-day delivery in Lubbock is booked by phone. Call (806) 301-4747 by 12 PM Monday–Saturday. Dispatch checks which truck is closest, gives you a yes or no and the full price on that call, and the unit arrives that afternoon. Any rush fee is quoted on that call, before you book.

    FROM THE CALL LOG

In 35 recorded calls, 8 callers needed a unit the same day or the next morning, and 3 said another company never called them back. Our rule: we tell you yes or no on the first call. If we're sold out, you go on a cancellation list and get a text the minute a unit frees up.

Outlying cities like Midland, Odessa, Amarillo, Hobbs and Clovis are scheduled 24–48 hours ahead. New Mexico windows are quoted in Mountain Time.

    06SEASONS

How does South Plains weather change a rental?

South Plains weather changes how we set and service a unit, not how many you need. Spring brings Lubbock's strongest wind and dust, summer brings 91–93°F highs, fall brings football, the fair and cotton harvest, and winter brings hard freezes. Each season below shows what our drivers do differently.

    Wind & dust season

April is Lubbock's windiest month, and dust storms peak in early spring. A 2023 storm brought 77 mph gusts and 14 hours of dust. Every unit on an open lot gets stakes or straps, and doors face away from the south wind.

    07GATE FIT

Will a porta potty fit through my gate?

A standard porta potty is 43.5 inches wide and needs a gate of at least 48 inches. A deluxe flushing unit is 47 inches wide, a wheelchair-accessible unit is 62 inches, and an ADA-compliant unit is 66 inches. Slide the gate width below to see which units fit.

    48 in.
    08PLACEMENT

Where can a porta potty go in Lubbock?

In Lubbock, a porta potty belongs on private property, at the alley edge of the lot, on level and firm ground away from playa low spots, and staked if the lot is open. Anything in the city right-of-way for more than an hour may need a $25 ROW permit. Park placements need Parks Director approval.

    RULE 01

    Alleys

Lubbock neighborhoods run on alleys, and the city's twice-weekly cart pickup needs them clear. We set units at the alley edge of your lot, never in the travel lane.

    RULE 02

    Right-of-way

Lubbock Code Chapter 37 requires a permit for activity in the city right-of-way. Temporary use is defined as under one hour, and a general ROW permit is $25 (City of Lubbock ROW FAQ). Keep units on private property.

    RULE 03

    Playas and runoff

There's roughly one playa lake per square mile inside city limits, and streets carry runoff for 30–40 minutes after a rain. We never set units in low spots.

    RULE 04

    City parks

Placing a portable toilet in a Lubbock park needs Parks Director approval, and units are allowed at 31+ listed parks including Mackenzie, Clapp and Berl Huffman. Call Parks at 806-775-2669.

    RULE 05

    Wind staking

Lubbock is ranked among the windiest U.S. cities, with a 12.4 mph average and April as the peak. Units on open lots get stakes or straps, and doors face away from the south wind.

    RULE 06

    Freeze plan

December–January lows average in the upper 20s. When a hard freeze is forecast, we add a winter tank treatment and drain or protect sink water.

    09CODE & OSHA

Which rules require a porta potty in Lubbock?

Lubbock adopted the 2021 International Plumbing Code, and section 311.1 requires toilet facilities for construction workers. OSHA sets the counts: 29 CFR 1926.51 for construction, 1910.141 for oilfield locations and other general industry, and 1928.110 for farm field crews. Public events should make at least 5% of units accessible.

Legal minimums and our recommendations are different numbers. Confirm with your inspector, safety officer or venue. This isn't legal advice.

How do I pick a porta potty company in Lubbock?

Pick a Lubbock porta potty company by checking six things: a local yard, a yes-or-no on your date during the first call, an itemized quote, a fair weather policy, a plan for wind and freezes, and registered waste hauling. Ask every company the same six questions and compare the answers.

    1. Is the yard local? A Lubbock yard means trucks that know Loop 289, the alleys and the lease roads. Many numbers that rank here are brokers reselling someone else's units.
    2. Do they answer the date on the first call? You shouldn't have to wait half an hour for a callback. Ask for a yes or no on the date before you give a card.
    3. Is the quote itemized? It should list the unit, dates, delivery, pickup, servicing, fuel and tax.
    4. What's the weather policy? Look for free cancellation at least 24 hours out and free rescheduling for storms or dust.
    5. How do they handle wind and freezes? Ask whether exposed units get staked and whether handwash water is protected in winter.
    6. Is waste hauled legally? Texas requires chemical toilet waste haulers to register with TCEQ.

    FAQFROM REAL CALLS

    Lubbock porta potty rental questions

Every question below was asked on a real rental call. The short answer comes first, then the conditions that change it.

Is it priced by the day?

No, events are priced per event. One day or five costs the same, because the cost is the truck trip, the cleaning and the pickup. That's why weekend parties get a Friday drop-off and a Monday pickup at no extra charge.

What does a standard porta potty mean?

A standard unit is the regular single-stall porta potty: toilet seat, urinal, holding tank, toilet paper and hand sanitizer. No flush, no sink, no hookups. It's right for jobsites, car shows, field days and casual parties.

Is the one that flushes the deluxe one?

Yes. The deluxe unit has a foot-pump flush, a sink with fresh water, soap and paper towels. It needs no plumbing. It's the usual pick for birthdays, graduations and weddings when guests expect more than a jobsite unit.

Can people see inside at night?

Standard and deluxe units have a translucent roof that lights them by day, but no electric lights. For evening events we add stick-on battery lights inside each unit. Restroom trailers have built-in lighting and work with a generator.

What if the weather forecast turns bad?

Cancel free up to 24 hours before drop-off. For a Saturday event, that's Thursday by 3 PM. If storms or a dust event threaten, call and we'll move your date instead of cancelling. Weather isn't your fault, and we don't charge for it.

Will someone actually call me back?

Yes, within 30 minutes during business hours. If we can't make your date, we say so on the first call instead of leaving you on hold. One caller told us everybody else promised a callback and never made it.

Does the city require a porta potty on my build?

Lubbock adopted the 2021 International Plumbing Code, and section 311.1 says toilet facilities shall be provided for construction workers and kept sanitary. OSHA 1926.51 sets the counts for employers. Builders who skip it get flagged. Ask your inspector what they expect on your permit.

Do porta potties freeze in a Lubbock winter?

The holding tank rarely freezes solid, but handwash water and flush tanks can. When a hard freeze is forecast, we add a winter tank treatment and drain or protect sink water. December and January lows average in the upper 20s.

Can you put it in my alley?

We'll place it at the alley edge of your lot, never in the travel lane. City trash trucks need the alley clear, and anything left in the city right-of-way for more than an hour may need a City of Lubbock ROW permit.

What do 20 or 30 units cost for a big event?

Orders of 10 or more standard units start at $215 per unit for a weekend, delivery and pickup included. Add accessible units at about 1 in 20 and handwash stations at 1 per 10 toilets. We send a written quote by text so your committee can compare.

How much is a restroom trailer?

Two-station trailers start at $1,800 for an event. Three-station trailers start around $2,900. Trailers need a 110–120V outlet and a hose, and if the site has no power we add a generator, which raises the price. Two deluxe flushing units are the lower-cost option.

Do you really deliver to Midland, Amarillo or Hobbs?

Yes, on scheduled routes. Cities 90–135 miles out are booked 24–48 hours ahead and serviced on a fixed route day. A distance charge starting at $95 is listed on its own line. New Mexico sites run on Mountain Time, so we quote the window in your local time.

Are you a broker or a local company?

We're local. (806) 301-4747 rings at our Lubbock dispatch on 34th Street, not a national call center that resells someone else's units. The person who books you talks to the drivers.

Can I rent porta potties for a game-day tailgate?

Yes, for private lots, businesses and organized tailgates near Jones AT&T Stadium and around town. Plan about 1 unit per 50 tailgaters for 6 hours, plus extra if alcohol is served. Get permission from the lot owner, and book by the Tuesday of game week.
